The Museum of Montserrat releases a new free visitor’s guide. It is a small publication that contains the basic information of the museum and serves as a practical guide, especially for those who come to Montserrat for the first time and don’t know nothing about the Museum.

This sheet has been published in six languages, in three versions: Catalan-English, Spanish-French and Russian-German. The cover is very clean with just a list with the names of some of the greatest painters in Art History that visitors can see at the Museum of Montserrat. At first reading level users will find the greeting of the monastic community and a historical introduction about the museum and the building where it is housed. The inside of the drop-down contents information about every collection of the Museum: Ancient Painting, Modern Painting and Sculpture, Nigra Sum (art related to the image of the Virgin of Montserrat), Archaeology of the Ancient World, Phos Hilaron (Eastern icons) and religious precious metal work. In addition, there’s a map of the different areas of the museum where the major works from the collection are located, with its images: Penitent Saint Jerome by Caravaggio, Old fisherman by Picasso, Falaise et Porte d’Aval par gros temps by Monet, Cafe Montmartre by Rusiñol Madeleine by Casas, Poor waiting for soop by Nonell, Reflections by Mir, Neocubist Academy by Dali and The mountain of Oisin by Scully. The map allows the user to know where he is in the tour of the permanent exhibition, and also in the two temporary exhibition galleries: Sala Daura and Pere Pruna’s Art Space.

The document is completed with all the practical information: services offered by the museum, opening times and contact points: telephone, website and social networks.
