This month, the Storage Room Insight features a Coptic veil dating from the 5th or 6th century, found during excavations at the Antinoe necropolis in Egypt. The veil was a piece of fabric worn over the head that could also cover the shoulders and much of the body.

It forms part of a collection of thirty-nine Coptic textiles assembled by Ramon Soler Vilabella and donated to Montserrat in 1999.
