The design, made up of nine tiles, features a distinctive decorative arrangement consisting of the Montserrat coat of arms (the mountain and the mountain range) surrounded by a blue border and floral motifs. This border is further bounded by a second corded border, with the heads of four seraphim standing at each corner.

The set of Renaissance-style tiles from the 16th century came from the Monastery of Montserrat. In the 18th century, they were re-used to pave the Hermitage of Santa Anna.

This panel was intentionally destroyed, with direct impacts seen on tiles that form the symbol of Montserrat.

This destructive act can be traced back to the tragic events of the Peninsular War (1811) when the Napoleonic troops ran rampant on the hermitages, burning and destroying them.
