30 / 06 / 2025

During this June, at the Storage Room Insight, you will find June (1939), by Marià Pidelaserra Brias. Trained at the Escola de Llotja and the Martínez Altés Academy, he also worked as an apprentice in a lithography workshop that brought him into contact with the Borrell Academy and the members of the Rovell de l'Ou group, where he made friends with the sculptor Emili Fontbona, Xavier Nogués and Isidre Nonell, among other prominent artists.

Between 1899 and 1901 he travelled to Paris, where he continued to train as an artist at the Colarossi Academy alongside his friends the painter Pere Ysern and the sculptor Emili Fontbona. During his stay in the French capital, he discovered Impressionism, a style that greatly influenced him, and where he painted his first Parisian landscapes, which reflect his intimate personality as a painter. His artistic career made him one of the basic figures of postmodernism and one of the representatives of Impressionism in Catalonia.
